Spiritual Poetry

<Ariannna/Susanrose> I want to thank Mike (Paza) for leading tonight.
Paza has been a Big help to the creation and continuance
of the channel #)Gaia*Friends(.
Though his diligent use of his web page we were able to reach many
with the upcoming topics, and the fact that we have been up and running
with weekly presentations since the new moon of Sep. 1995.
<Viveka> Arianna - How do I access the web page?
Arianna/Susanrose> Viveka you need netscape 2.0 to see it correctly
<DoveStar> brb all, checking website:)

<Paza> Welcome to tonight's edition of )Gaia*Friends(.

First, let me introduce myself.
I am Michael Gradman in real life, a sophomore at
New Mexico Tech. I major in Computer Science and Math.
I have been into spirituality since an automatic writing Experience
in February of 1995. The course of events eventually led me to the
loving people of #ascension about two months later.
I enjoy everyone's company a lot
there as well as here in #)Gaia*Friends(.

<Paza> Now for tonight's presentation:

One of the lessons I have learned is to flow with spirit.
One way to do that is through composing poetry. Usually, the
feeling for me to write comes from some sort of inspiration, just like
happens with any other poet.

It is not too difficult to compose very powerful spiritual
poetry. The first thing I usually do is meditate myself into a trance
state. This will make it easier for you to connect with the spiritual
plane. Once you are in this state, feel the energies of the Universe
flow through you and prepare to receive visions with a focus in mind.
The best way to focus is to think about what you wish to write about,
and let spirit choose the best title for you. It is possible for the
spirit to express these visions in words quite poetically.

With the pen and paper you have in hand, write with your soul,
most importantly letting the words flow through you like a freshwater
stream.
Continue to write through the visions you see and do not stop writing
until you feel that the poem is complete. It is then best to read over
what you have written. At this stage, you may make minor changes
to make things sound better, but don't alter the wording too much
because the poem will then lose its power.

When you are done, let spirit tell you when to share
these poems with others....trust me you will know when
the time is right to do so......

The poem pasted below came to me just after spring break
of this year I had come back from a meeting and had the urge to
write some stream of consciousness poetry....
and I wanted to write about something native
American in nature and in flavor, so I thought for a few minutes
and the title "The Rainbow Gathering" came to me....
then I received a series of visions which turned
themselves into lines of poetry, and the following poem was the result:
Often I am surprised with what the finished product is....a
poem often very different than what I had intended, but usually they
are very powerful.

<Paza> "The Rainbow Gathering"

The gentle breeze joins in the Celestial Song,
Brilliant golden beams of sunlight pour down,
On the sacred gathering below,
The shamans of the local tribes smoke of the pipe.

The colors of the rainbow glimmer in their dress,
The Red Reign of the Heart shimmers from their energy,
Sending the peace of the dove to all,
The sun sets, leaving behind a magical Orange glow.

The Yellow embers of the fire now burn bright,
Warming the kindred spirits of the light,
Sitting upon Gaia's Green grass,
They Journey, departing on a cosmic flight.

On the astral plane they come to a river,
Full of cool, refreshing Blue water,
The healers feel the energy flow through them
As each drinks in the solemn rite of rebirth.

The sacred circle casts an Indigo aura,
All are One and at peace with the Universe,
The ceremony of Ascension has blessed all
With illumination and inner peace.

The sky turns a mystical Violet,
As the Sun makes its triumphant return,
To grace everyone with its golden light,
Signalling the start of a New Age for all spirits...
<end>

<WhytLyon> *beautiful*
<Susanrose> That 's wonderful Paza..
The rain bow gathering was great
<Paza_> thank you arianna
<DoveStar> Love that poem, Paza:)

Arianna/Susanrose> I have a story to tell you all ...
I organize an annual Goddess Gathering and
there were a bunch of college students that car pooled there one year
and one of the girls who came was going around the park
handing out her poem
I wondered it could be any good
since she was a youngster... of about 18... smile
but it turned out to be very good....
so good that it is now in the web page
<MornStar> wow
<Paza> neat arianna :)
I believe it was a gift, from the Goddess to me...
I will paste the poem she was passing out
her name is Cassandra, and I never saw her again

<MornStar> :)

I want to ride bareback on time's swift steed, my hair
streaking the heavens like the tail of a comet;
my eyes reflecting the stars: my nose awakened,
tickling from the cosmic dust.
~
Leaving the planets spinning in the backdraft of my
speed, I know invincibility. I am powerful as gravity's pull,
I am free as Light. I am Goddess.
- Cassandra

> So my many thanks to dear young Cassandra, where ever
she is....
<MornStar> Beautiful
Arianna/Susanrose> I have her poem decorated with a large photo
of a COMET...like the one in the poem, that is streaking it 's way
to Jupiter. If you want to see her poem, with the comet picture,
it's on the )Gaia*Friends( Copyright page.

I have pieces of several poems that I did not write,
but find inspirational.
The first part is by Byron, I like to recite this when I am in the
parking lot ready to go into work. Since I start at 6:30am.
I often drive to work while it is still dark.

"She walks in beauty, like the night
of cloudless climes and starry skies
and all that's best of dark and bright
meet in her aspect, and her eyes"

It helps me uplift my physical and mental posture,
embracing beauty to start my day..

Another familiar poem to you that I use
to remind me of my strength is:

"What a piece of work is man,
How noble in reason!
How infinite in faculties!
In form and movement, how express
and admirable!"
.
<MornStar> thanks
I'd like to share a short poem if I could

Flow of freedom
To be Light
Bonded With the Source
From whence I arose
Before Stars, I am
<MornStar> Very short :)

Arianna/Susanrose> I like that Morn....
tell me what you were doing when you wrote it
<MornStar> I was feeling connected to the Divine
<Paza> love and light mornstar :)

<Paza>On April 20, I attended the Red Reign Powwow,
an annual event held here on campus. Throughout the day,
I was entranced and thus open to receive
spiritual visions and poetry. I shared some of my poems
that day with the people there in addition to lending a hand
with setting up the day before and running the concession stand
on the day of the powwow itself.
I felt very much at peace as the following poems flowed through me
and onto paper:

"The Grand Cycle" (4/20/96)

The Sun begins his ascension over the morning sky,
Birds chirp the songs of the Earth,
The buffalo stampede across the "Land of the Drums,"
All celebrate the start a new day.

At the top of the arch of Golden Light,
Harmony pours down on the landscape below,
The Eagle spreads its wings gloriously,
Calling all to share the fruit of the harvest.

Soothed by the all-encompassing peace,
Which unites, yet diversifies, the enchanted populace,
Quetzalcoatl shines his light upon all,
Painting the sky with citrines and amethysts as he sets.

As the Sun returns to his resting place,
The Moon quietly enters the Celestial Palace,
Among the stars she watches with vigilance,
As the coyote howls across the Red Rock.

She protects all from the fury of the night,
And graces the land with her presence,
Luna watches Earth like the hooting owl,
Just by being here, she works wonders.

All remains tranquil as the crickets chirp,
And the gentle whispers of the flowing stream,
The obsidian night opens the spirits of the Shamans,
And Dreamers enter their worlds of enchantment.

The Moon now begins her gradual descent,
Having empowered all with her magic,
She makes her rendezvous with Quetzalcoatl,
As his brilliant light signals the coming dawn.

----

"Visions" (4/20/96)

The Shaman lights a warm bonfire in his home,
He prepares himself for his upcoming Journey,
Into the mystical world of dreams and spirit,
To seek out harmony, balance, and truth.

He calmly enters a meditative trance,
As he opens himself up to the universe,
The energies of the ones who went before him,
Energize him for the magical trip.

Visions he sees, each with a tale,
A lesson for him to teach others,
A message of Love, and of peace,
He will deliver to the tribe known as Man.

The Shaman will calm the tensions,
Which have plagued the Earth for so long,
He will bring about the New Age,
Where life till return to the ways of the Elder.

----

"Back in Time" (4/20/96)

A troubled soul came up on a river in the forest,
Stressed out from the hustle-bustle of the city,
Aggravated by his wife, kids, and work,
He screamed so loudly that the entire Universe quaked.

He felt a churning in his stomach,
And then he clocked out of the 20th century,
His spirit drifted across the endless timescape,
Lost in confusion and agony, he randomly chose somewhere to go,
Back in time he drifted to a better world.

He awoke in an ancient village,
Full of vibrance and free of stress,
But his worries still bothered him,
Until a medicine man entered the hut.

The Shaman sensed the impure energies around him,
And set immediately to cleanse them from his hearth,
And from the man from another time,
Then he filled the place with his brilliant white light...

His soul no longer troubled,
The displaced soul wandered again through the cosmos,
He found his way back to the river,
And then everything went black...

The man awoke in the forest by the river,
Remembering that he had fallen unconscious, but no more,
But he felt renewed by some mystical force,
His soul in harmony for all time...

----

"The Painted Desert" (4/20/96)

The ancient spirits swirl in harmony,
With the brilliant colors of the rainbow,
Combining them into golden sunlight,
Which they emanate on to the landscape below.

They are inspired to add more to the picture,
In an instant, the spirits flash life into existence,
Each plant and animal is a unique work of art,
Sacred as the rainbow light itself.

"Let us now give this world our blessing,"
Proclaimed one of the wise spirits,
For a moment, the spirits thought,
Then, they painted the desert with their pastels of light.

----

"In Harmony with the Elements"

EARTH

Rejoice! Your labors have reached fruition.
All of your hard work in the fields has paid off,
Enjoy the bread, fruits, and wine which I have grown for you,
And celebrate your Union with me.

WIND

Feel my refreshing breeze caress your skin,
Let me fuel your ships as you explore new horizons,
Rest and dream peacefully on the clouds which float in me,
Swiftly, I blow the Sands of Time along the Sacred Path.

FIRE

I bring you warmth and joy in a blaze of glory,
Let me provide you shelter from the harshest winter storms,
Use me in your rites and ceremonies,
And I will illuminate your spirit!

WATER

Flow along with me and you will live peacefully,
Drink me to quench your thirst in the cruellest desert,
Listen to me as I shape the land,
And I'll take you safely along for the ride.

SPIRIT

I am all there is in the Universe,
The energy which transcends time and space,
Call on me in the toughest times,
And I will be your guiding light.

----

"Circles" (4/20/96)

Unite in love, peace, and harmony,
Join your Circles for healing and purification,
Gather, for you are ready to transcend,
To evolve into beings of pure spirit.

Feel the energy flowing around the world,
On this very joyous occasion,
Let the flow of energy at your gathering,
Guide you into the Golden Light of Unity.

All Circles will bathe in the light,
And they will harmonize with one another,
Over large distances you will feel welcome,
At the other gatherings around the world.

You will be in all places and times at once,
And will have found your way back,
To the ONE place which you truly call home,
And thus, the Circle will be complete!

Here is an inspired poem that I downloaded a few years ago
from Compuserve. My thanks to "Rainbow" where ever she is!

"TRANSMISSION FROM THE ISLE-OF-WIGHT,

Received by Rainbow,
after a Sea meditation communing with HER in her sea form...
Please keep this whole document complete & don't leave
ANYTHING out!
Try using it as a mantra or prayer every morning!"

PULSING PULSING PULSING

WITH THE TIDES WAVES WINDS

WASHING IN & OUT IN ALL LIFE
PUMPING RHYTHMICALLY IN & OUT UP

THROUGH TREES & WAVES
THEN BACK AGAIN AT NIGHT

ALWAYS MOVING ALWAYS BREATHING

-BREATHING LIFE IN & OUT
SAP RISING AND FALLING IN AN ETERNAL TIDE

GODDESS"

That was posted in Compuserve in all Caps, so I pasted it
as I saw it. (smile)

Lastly, a great example of Spiritual prose/Poetry is shared below.
You all have heard it, and now is your chance to print
a copy for yourself . Hang it on your refrigerator, or at
your work station. Before the days of "new age" channeling,
people were still not left without connection to divine guidance
This is an example that what was true then, is true today.

"Desiderata"
found in Old St. Paul's Church, Baltimore, Md. dated 1692

Go Placidly Amid the Noise and Haste,
And remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
Be on Good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
And listen to others,
Even the dull and ignorant;
They too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
They are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others
You may become vain and bitter;
For always there will be greater
and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements
As well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career,
However humble; it is a real possession
In the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs;
For the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to
What virtue there is;
Many persons strive for high ideals;
And everywhere life is full of heroism
Be Yourself.
Especially do not feign affection.
neither be cynical about love;
For in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
It is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
Gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit
To shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are borne
Of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,
Be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the Universe
No less than the trees and the stars;
You have a right to be here.

And no doubt the Universe
Is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
Whatever you conceive Him to be
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
In the noisy confusion of life
Keep Peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams,
It is still a beautiful world.
Be careful.
Strive to be happy.
